My Flat Iron

A flat iron is essential in every girls beauty tools, but finding the right one can be such an annoying and difficult process. Normally, I would just throw my hair into a messy bun and hope for the best but recently Ive decided to put some much needed effort and TLC into my hair. Growing up I've always shared a flat iron with my sister since I really couldn't be bothered buying a new and I felt bad asking my parents for a new one haha. My sister and I are pretty similar however, when it comes to hair we could not be more opposite. She has incredibly thin blonde hair that takes about ten minutes to straighten, where I have brown unruly thick hair (some people get all the luck huh). Don't get me wrong I love having thick hair especially when it comes to curling it because I feel like Belle from Beauty and the Beast haha! Anyway my sister uses the standard chi 1-inch flat iron that most girls seem to have but that was just not getting the job done for me. So I finally came to a decision to purchase a new flat iron that would actually straighten my hair and not just kill it.

I went to Ulta with my dad (lucky for him he was blessed with three daughters) to get a new flat iron and I decided on the Croc Infrared Iron and I could not be happier! It is literally perfect for people with thick hair. The infrared portion of the flat iron helps your hair maintain moisture keeping it smooth and silky. It is also safe for color treated hair which was a huge bonus for me because I would notice that with other irons the ends of my hair would become incredibly dead very quickly. This one though leaves my hair silky and smooth! One negative of this flat iron is that it costs a few pretty pennies, originally it costs about two-hundred dollars however with a bit of searching you can find for up to fifty dollars cheaper. However, even with the hefty price tag it really is worth it since it last so long (I had mine for up to two years and it is still going very strong). It also can get very very hot, up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit to be exact!  The one thing though that I absolutely LOVE about this flat iron is that it can create effortless curls without kinks in it!!! Usually when I curl my hair with it I dont even have to spray it with hairspray and the curls still last all day long.

Now I am dying to try all of the other croc hair styling products!!!

What is your favorite hair styling tool!?!

Growing Up

So much has happened in the last few months, things that were completely incredible and amazing! First off, I had my senior prom which was the most fantastic night imaginable (that sounds really cheesy haha!) The night went by so fast and I wish that I could do it over and over again. My dress was from BCBG and I absolutely loved it!

After prom my friends and I went to a shore about an hour and a half away from our town and had an amazing and relaxing time. I didn't really take pictures while I was at the shore (oops!) But then before I knew it the day of graduation arrived!!!!!! I was filled with various emotions and as excited as I was, I didn't think that I was ready to leave high school and my friends behind. During the ceremony I held in my tears and watched my fellow classmates take the stage and the next step in life.

These past few weeks have been truly incredible and I would not change them for the would. I am sitting now as a freshman in college enrolled in a summer program! It is so strange thinking that barely even three weeks ago I was still in high school with familiar faces that I have known for the past 12 years of my life. Now I am in a place that is completely unfamiliar, in situations that I never thought I would experience. I am so happy and look forward to the next four years of my life!!!
WE ARE!!!

Super Storm

Were any of you out there affected by the super storm Hurricane Sandy? I love thunder storms and rainy weather, however, this storm was utterly terrifying! I live in the Philadelphia area so I was not as badly affected by the storm, but there were many fallen trees and loss of power for three days. I really worked on my puzzle and boardgame skills. I can proudly say that I am a champion at the Game of Life!

A picture of a rollercoaster from the boardwalk in Seaside Hights. I used to go here when I was a little kid. I remember going here with my moms best friend and her children and having the most wonderful time. I would never go on these rides now because they seem like a shady business and poorly constructed. However, the memories from my childhood of eating cottoncandy on the pier overlooking the alantic is now as strong as ever. Hopefully the rebuilding process will go by quickly!

Overview of Sandy. Scary!

I hope that everyone who was affected by the storm is okay and safe. The rebuilding process of Americas beloved cities will be a long tough process, but with the help from our communities we will make it through. I hope that all of you east coasters are braving the Nor'easter!

Face Cleansers I Would Not Buy Again

I have very sensitive skin, so finding a inexpensive facial cleanser can be almost impossible. Most dry out the skin leaving unbearable rough patches; while others leave skin feeling rough and raw. Below are two facial cleansers that I did not get on with.

1. Neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser

This cleanser looks like it would work really well and get the job done. However, I did not like this one bit. First of all the description says that it is a fresh foaming facial cleanser (try saying that five times fast) it really does not foam at all. When you massage this onto your face it just feels like a liquid soap and has no foaming qualities whatsoever. Also on the back of the bottle it states that when removing eye makeup it will not sting the eyes. This is so false I cannot even put it into words, it burns like hell. When using it I would try to avoid my eyes just so I would not have to deal with the agony. The cleanser also doesnt have the best smell and if it gets into your mouth it has a very gross taste. A positive thing about this cleanser is that it does not dry out my skin.
 and replenishes some moisture.

A product by Neutrogena that I do suggest is the makeup remover wipes. They are very good for lazy people like myself who just want to do a little scrub then be done. They are also good for little mistakes like when you sneeze right after you applied mascara.

2. Clean and Clear Morning Burst

This cleanser is not my cup of tea. It left my skin feeling very rough and red. Also after a couple of uses it left the skin around my ears and nose painfully and unflatteringly (not sure thats a word)  bad. It did very little to treat blemishes and also the bottle lied again, it does hurt horribly when it gets into your eyes. A positive about this is the smell is pretty good and it does leave your skin feeling somewhat refreshed.

I hope you enjoyed this post!
