Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette Review

Every girl needs at least one palette of nude or naked colours, or in my case loads. I'm not very risky when it comes to bold colourful eyeshadow, I prefer to stick with the warm brown and skin tones. So my draws are filled with various neutral toned eye shadow. Which is why this palette is perfect for everyday going about use!

This palette contains six matte shadows (although they do have a little added shimmer). It compliments the Naked and Naked 2 palettes perfectly. The packaging of this is nice and sleek like the previous palettes however it is small enough to fit in your purse which is an added bonus!

Favourite Drug Store Mascara

Everyone has that one makeup product that they would rather live in a hole with a million creatures than live without. I cannot live without mascara, if I do not have it on I feel like something is missing. I generally have pretty small lashes so I think that is why I am obsessed with making them look longer and fuller. I love mascara but I do not like buring a hole in my pocket and even drug store mascara can cost a pretty penny, but my favourite brand of drug store mascara would be most Loreal products. Listed below are some of my favourites!

Voluminous Mascara: Carbon Black
Usually $7:25

I love this mascara so much! This is one of the first Loreal Mascaras I have ever bought and I fell in love right away. This one has a very clear brush that does not clump so I usually apply this one on top of other mascaras and use it to comb through clumps.

Super Storm

Were any of you out there affected by the super storm Hurricane Sandy? I love thunder storms and rainy weather, however, this storm was utterly terrifying! I live in the Philadelphia area so I was not as badly affected by the storm, but there were many fallen trees and loss of power for three days. I really worked on my puzzle and boardgame skills. I can proudly say that I am a champion at the Game of Life!

A picture of a rollercoaster from the boardwalk in Seaside Hights. I used to go here when I was a little kid. I remember going here with my moms best friend and her children and having the most wonderful time. I would never go on these rides now because they seem like a shady business and poorly constructed. However, the memories from my childhood of eating cottoncandy on the pier overlooking the alantic is now as strong as ever. Hopefully the rebuilding process will go by quickly!

Overview of Sandy. Scary!

I hope that everyone who was affected by the storm is okay and safe. The rebuilding process of Americas beloved cities will be a long tough process, but with the help from our communities we will make it through. I hope that all of you east coasters are braving the Nor'easter!

Face Cleansers I Would Not Buy Again

I have very sensitive skin, so finding a inexpensive facial cleanser can be almost impossible. Most dry out the skin leaving unbearable rough patches; while others leave skin feeling rough and raw. Below are two facial cleansers that I did not get on with.

1. Neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser
image from google

This cleanser looks like it would work really well and get the job done. However, I did not like this one bit. First of all the description says that it is a fresh foaming facial cleanser (try saying that five times fast) it really does not foam at all. When you massage this onto your face it just feels like a liquid soap and has no foaming qualities whatsoever. Also on the back of the bottle it states that when removing eye makeup it will not sting the eyes. This is so false I cannot even put it into words, it burns like hell. When using it I would try to avoid my eyes just so I would not have to deal with the agony. The cleanser also doesnt have the best smell and if it gets into your mouth it has a very gross taste. A positive thing about this cleanser is that it does not dry out my skin.
 and replenishes some moisture.

A product by Neutrogena that I do suggest is the makeup remover wipes. They are very good for lazy people like myself who just want to do a little scrub then be done. They are also good for little mistakes like when you sneeze right after you applied mascara.

2. Clean and Clear Morning Burst

This cleanser is not my cup of tea. It left my skin feeling very rough and red. Also after a couple of uses it left the skin around my ears and nose painfully and unflatteringly (not sure thats a word)  bad. It did very little to treat blemishes and also the bottle lied again, it does hurt horribly when it gets into your eyes. A positive about this is the smell is pretty good and it does leave your skin feeling somewhat refreshed.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

All opinions are my own.

Chaintasic!

I love to decorate my room and house according to the season and the holiday. It can get pretty obsevive but it is just so much fun! This paper chain idea can be used for Halloween, Christmas, birthdays, basically anything you want which is why its so cool! Lets get started on a Halloween paper chain yay!

What You Will Need:
  • Paper- you can use any colour your heart desires. I went with black and orange but you could also use purples and greens anything that makes you think of Halloween!
  • Stapler
  • Scissors
  • Tape or Puddy
  • String (bonus step)
  • Glitter glue (bonus step)
First Step: Cut It

I placed the black paper on top of the orange paper just to make the cutting process go a little faster because I am the worst cutter in the history of life. You can cut the paper hotdog or hamburger style, but I personally think that the hamburger style works best. Also, how thick you decide to make the paper strips does not matter but usually 1 inch works pretty well.

Second Step: Staple It

First, create a ring with one strip of paper and staple it. Then, alternating colours continue to staple each ring until you reach your desired length.

Third Step: Hang It Up

You can hang your paper chain however and wherever you would like. I choose to drape mine because I think it looks pretty swell.

DYI Candy Jar

Everyone loves sweets right. I mean how can you say no to the hundreds of beautifully coloured wrappers? If you love sweets or just love to look at them then this is a simple and affordable craft for you!

What You Will Need:

Supplies Needed

  • Glass Jar (anykind will work, I got mine pretty cheap at Michaels)
  • Elmers Glue or any liquid/gel glue
  • A paintbrush
  • Your favourite candy wrappers! Yum
First Step: Cut it

- Cut your candy wrappers into pieces. For this jar I used Dum Dum wrappers and I cut them way to small so it took me forever to glue them all on. So, I suggest using some bigger pieces.

Second Step: Glue it

- Add glue to the space where you would like to apply the wrappers. You may want to apply the glue heavily so that the wrappers will stick and not peel off.

Third Step: Stick it

- Then apply the wrappers you may have to do two layers depending on what kind of wrappers you used. The Dum Dum wrappers left a lot of gaps so I just added another layer to conceal them. Also if you are using colourful wrappers it is best if you alternate colour combinations so it does not look clumpy!

Calm Yourself Down

I know we all have those days where nothing ever goes according to plan. For me, those days are a regular occurance. One little thing can set me over the edge whether it be receiving a horrible grade or problems with friends, I always follow these steps or advice so I dont become a complete wreck!

  • Take a Bath
I know that this sounds silly, like why would I want to sit in a tub of my own filth ew! I know it maybe strange but taking a bath in warm water helps relax your muscles and makes you feel better overall. Plus, adding some fun bubbles infused with lavender will also help you to just take a breather and let your troubles run down the drain.

  • Read a Book
Even if you are not the biggest fan of reading in the world, opening a book will help you to escape reality for a while, and allows you to enter a magical fanatasy. I am a huge reader and when I saw huge I mean HUGE, so reading really does help to calm me down. My favourite books to dwell upon when I need a bit of a calm down are Science Fiction/Fantasy books because they usually take place somewhere far away, so its like leaving your troubles at the door.

  • Jam Out
This step is perfect if youre not a fan of reading! Everyone loves music and they know what makes them feel good and what makes them feel like poo. When youre feeling a bit overstimulated take a five minute break from whatever youre doing and jam out to your favourite song like no one is watching. For me I would listen to Paloma Faiths Picking up the Pieces or anything by Frank Turner (there isnt a song called anything I mean I would listen to any song by him because they are all so good!)

  • Go for a Snooze
I do not know anyone who would turn down a nap, and quite frankly there is never enough time to just take a load off and kick back. However, if you can set a little time aside for a quick power nap then it will really help to ease your stress. Some people dont benefit from naps though at all and thats cool to, whatever works best for you!

I hope that these tips work for you and help you on the road to a stress free life! (Corny I know)
