First Day of College

Today was the beginning of an exciting time and also probably one of the most terrifying times. The first day of college!!! As summer session was coming to the end I was beginning to become anxious about what the fall semester would bring. Would I have to make all new friends? Would the classes be harder? With all of these thoughts running through my head I almost forgot one of the most crucial differences, the summer only had about four thousand students on campus, while the fall will have almost forty thousand new students! But I soon realized that the fall semester wasn't going to be so scary after all. There are so many activities to get involved in right away! There is hardly ever a dull moment. My favorite part of first arriving on campus was decorating my new home.

I am living in quad with three other girls. At first I was a little hesitant about sharing a room with three other girls but they are so nice and super sweet! Our room feels like a home away from home which is exactly what we all wanted. So to any new freshman I can that school wont be as scary as you think, sure the classes may be larger and the food be not as edible but for the next two to four years make the best of your college experience and participate in so many activities!!

Chaintasic!

I love to decorate my room and house according to the season and the holiday. It can get pretty obsevive but it is just so much fun! This paper chain idea can be used for Halloween, Christmas, birthdays, basically anything you want which is why its so cool! Lets get started on a Halloween paper chain yay!

What You Will Need:
  • Paper- you can use any colour your heart desires. I went with black and orange but you could also use purples and greens anything that makes you think of Halloween!
  • Stapler
  • Scissors
  • Tape or Puddy
  • String (bonus step)
  • Glitter glue (bonus step)
First Step: Cut It

I placed the black paper on top of the orange paper just to make the cutting process go a little faster because I am the worst cutter in the history of life. You can cut the paper hotdog or hamburger style, but I personally think that the hamburger style works best. Also, how thick you decide to make the paper strips does not matter but usually 1 inch works pretty well.

Second Step: Staple It

First, create a ring with one strip of paper and staple it. Then, alternating colours continue to staple each ring until you reach your desired length.

Third Step: Hang It Up

You can hang your paper chain however and wherever you would like. I choose to drape mine because I think it looks pretty swell.
