Looking back at my grandparents photos from the 1940's and 1950's I always feel a sense of pride in how confident everyone looked. They dressed like they had self respect for themselves and for others. We now live in an era where we think that beautiful is hardly wearing any clothes at all and covering our natural beauty with fake tans. I wish that we could go back to the time where women and men dressed liked they had a purpose and could achieve anything.

The 1920's was an era where women took more fashion risks and dressed much more boldly. In a time where women were supposed to be proper and modest they flaunted their sexuality. Instead of sporting long hair that was popular for the time they cut their hair and flatted their breasts, creating a more boyish look. At this time in history women were fighting for their beliefs and they did so with style and poise. The strong women of the 1920's wanted to show men that they deserve to be treated as equals! Whenever I look at pictures of women from the 20's I can help but feel some what upset at what some girls have become. In a time where fashion was a symbol of fight and equality, elegance and sophisication, we now live in an era where being orange and fake is beautiful. I know that everyone does not dress like they just walked off of the jersey shore and I applaud you guys who dress with self respect and hold pride within themselves. You will be the girls who will change the world!!!!
